Military Grade Defibrillator
This client is a top manufacturer of medical equipment and software. They specialize in electrical equipment for medical applications including CPR, temperature measurement and defibrillation. For this particular project, they were seeking a power solution for military grade defibrillators.
This client required a DC-DC converter manufactured in the U.S. that could charge their military grade defibrillators in ground vehicles or aircraft. The supply needed to have a wide input voltage range, and also meet commercial and military EMI, shock and vibration, and safety approvals. It was important that the supply could operate in full capacity for any application whether it be on land, air or sea.
Although this supply would be used in military environments, it would also need to meet medical specifications due to the nature of the application. This means that in addition to military approvals, it also needed to meet the stringent requirements of EN60601-1.
The Wall Industries sales and engineering team worked with this customer, using our multi step design process, to understand their vision and requirements for this supply. After reviewing the desired specifications, our engineering team made expert recommendations and presented a custom design to the customer. We were able to create a supply with a wide input range that was also approved to EN 60601-1 3rd edition medical approvals as well as the DO-160 military aircraft standard. The supply also met commercial and military EMI, safety, and shock and vibration requirements. The customer was pleased with the design, gave their approval, and Wall began manufacturing their new custom product.
